Name: Mox Avasi

Birthdate: Unknown, about 7 years old

Ambition: To have enough food to eat

Greatest challenge: He was almost hit and killed by oncoming traffic when his father pushed him into the street

Most proud of: I am happy here at the Asande House

Mox came to live at the orphanage in early 2016 when he was found laying in a construction site after being hit by a car in Mombasa. Rosefina’s brother took him to the hospital. Her brother cared for him and found out that his parents were both dead. Mox’s dad tried to push him into the street when they were starving, desperate to end their suffering. His father then killed himself, and Mox survived.

When asked about how he arrived at the Asande House, Mox says he doesn’t know. He says an angel of God found him and he was on the bus for two days to get here.

Mox is most interested in having his temporal needs met and staying in a safe place. He says he has found it here at the Asande House. He says everyone has been very warm and loving. He said “please don’t send me to Mombasa. If I go back there I will die. I want to live here with all of the Asande kids, I feel peace here.” Mox is described as being friendly, easily adaptable, and a very good kid. The children and Jeska really love him.
